Problem & Goals
InvestorQ&A wanted training materials that would complement live lectures and their practice console, and also allow for independent study. They needed documents that were engaging, easy to follow, and adaptable for both entrepreneurs and certified trainers.
Objectives:
→ Balance readability with brand personality
→ A need for bilingual versions
→ A consistent visual system
→ Layouts that worked both for teaching and for self-study
Design Approach & Visual Systems
I designed three core publications, each tailored to a specific audience and purpose:
Glossary of Aspiration Fundamentals - A reference guide introducing key venture capital terms to those new to the field. Its layout was clean and minimal, with left-aligned definitions, brushstroke accents, and generous white space, making it easy to scan and take in quickly.
Certified Trainer Program Manual - A structured training manual created for accelerators and educators. It offered a more formal, yet approachable, framework for teaching others how to guide entrepreneurs through investor conversations.
Instruction Manual - A guide designed for entrepreneurs themselves, providing practical tools, frameworks, and reminders they could use both in practice and in real investor meetings.

Each document followed a consistent design language aligned with the client’s brand but was differentiated through signature accent colors: dark teal for the Glossary, light teal/green for the Trainer Manual, and red-burgundy for the Instruction Manual. Brushstroke graphics, photography, and clean two-column layouts created a visual identity that was professional yet dynamic. Manuals included highlighted sections, orange for Aspiration Concepts, grey for Obstacle Words/Concepts, and other accent colors for quotes and key takeaways, adding rhythm and hierarchy to the reading experience.
To maximize usability, I designed the manuals with a note-taking column on the right-hand side, so readers could annotate their insights during lectures or practice sessions. This feature proved especially useful during live workshops, allowing participants to bridge the material with their personal experiences.
All three resources were produced in both English and French, supporting InvestorQ&A’s Canadian audience and ensuring accessibility to a wider user base.
Outcome
The materials were a strong success: they not only reinforced live and console-based training but also gave participants a tangible reference they could return to at any stage of their entrepreneurial journey. By balancing clarity, accessibility, and brand personality, the guides helped position InvestorQ&A as both an authoritative and approachable voice in venture capital education.
