Problem & Goals
The client, a woman entrepreneur turning her hobby into a career, wanted a brand identity for her handmade clothing business. She needed a logo that captured the meaning of her family name (“Grüne Spinne”) while also reflecting her craft through a simple “needle and thread” element.

Create a logo that:
→ Expresses movement, reflecting the dynamic, handmade process.
→ Maintains versatility across formats and occasions.
→ Feels memorable, welcoming, and deeply connected to the client’s personal story.

Research & Insight
I looked into family-heritage-inspired brands, textile/clothing marks, and how movement can be expressed in minimal logo design. I also explored color theory to strike the right tone between maturity and vibrancy.
Constraints
The logo had to work in both small and large applications (clothing tags, framed versions, and holiday variations), and I needed to avoid a childish aesthetic while still keeping a sense of approachability.

Opportunities
Develop a logo versatile enough to adapt for children’s clothing and seasonal celebrations, and design an identity that felt professional and mature, but still warm and welcoming.
Solution
I designed a simple yet captivating logo that integrates the “needle and thread” motif into a dynamic, spider-inspired form. I chose a deep green-on-white palette for high contrast and to tie directly to the brand name. The result is a professional identity with enough flexibility to adapt to children’s clothing and special occasions.
